Sacyr Concesiones
Thirty years ago, we began our journey in Chile with a clear purpose: to develop infrastructure that improves people’s quality of life. Since then, we have supported the country’s growth by putting our expertise at the service of projects that connect communities, boosts economic activity, and contribute to social well-being.
Our history in Chile began in 1996 with the concession of the Los Vilos-La Serena highway, Sacyr’s first ever concession project and the starting point of our international expansion. This 245-kilometre section of the Pan-American Highway marked a turning point in our history.
The trust placed in our technical and management capabilities has enabled us to establish a strong presence in the country. Today, we develop and operate more than 1,400 kilometres of roads, representing approximately 20% of Chile’s concession highway network. We are also the country's largest concessionaire.
Our activities are present in essential services used by millions of people. We manage five airports that welcome nearly nine million passengers every year, including Andrés Sabella airport and El Loa airport, two of the busiest airports in Chile. In the healthcare sector, we operate infrastructure such as the Antofagasta Regional Hospital, the largest healthcare facility between Lima and Santiago and one of the most modern hospitals in the country, and Buin Paine Hospital. Together, these facilities provide services to approximately 800,000 people.
Chile holds a special place in Sacyr's history. It was the first step in our concession business journey and, thirty years later, it continues to be a strategic market for our growth. We will continue to develop infrastructure that enhances social well-being, strengthens connectivity and creates opportunities for future generations.
